I have to agree a lot with Nathalie. Replace the "she" with "He" and you pretty much have my answer..

Would others think that your kids are spoiled? Probably lol. She's wellbehaved and a very sweet kid, but she gets her way with me

If they really want something for birthdays or Christmas, do you make sure they get it? Always. I live and breathe for this kid so whatever she wants and as long as I can afford it, she'll get

If they really want something at other times of hte year, do they get it? Within reason, yes. But I try to make it as a special reward

Do you ever over-rule a want because there is no need for it? Yep

Do your kids get something (even a small something) every time they go to the store with you? No.

Why do you think the way you do on the above questions? Well, she's my only baby. I work hard to provide her with everything should could ever possibly want and more. However, that doesn't mean she doesn't have to "work" for things. She cleans her room, does homework, helps bring dishes to the table, etc. I don't want her to ever think that things come easy. You gotta work for them...in any way.

Do you think your kids are spoiled? yes

Would others think that your kids are spoiled? within reason I would guess - she really doesn't get anymore than others around here do

If they really want something for birthdays or Christmas, do you make sure they get it? most of the time yes

If they really want something at other times of hte year, do they get it? sometimes

Do you ever over-rule a want because there is no need for it? yes

Do your kids get something (even a small something) every time they go to the store with you? yes. If I get a coke, its not fair not letting her have one, now is it?

Why do you think the way you do on the above questions? just do

Do you think your kids are spoiled? Yes, sometimes

Would others think that your kids are spoiled? I don't think so

If they really want something for birthdays or Christmas, do you make sure they get it? We do try, but sometimes it's just outside our means

If they really want something at other times of hte year, do they get it? Sometimes. If they are really well behaved and do what we ask of them, we give them treats.

Do you ever over-rule a want because there is no need for it? Yes

Do your kids get something (even a small something) every time they go to the store with you? Not always, but usually a book or candy. Something small and not expensive, but only when we have that little extra.

Why do you think the way you do on the above questions? I don't want them to be SPOILED rotten. I do love to get my kids special treats and gifts, even outside holidays and birthdays, but they can't expect it every time.

Do you think your kids are spoiled? Robert is VERY spoiled

Would others think that your kids are spoiled? not by me, but by my parents and my grandfather hehe

If they really want something for birthdays or Christmas, do you make sure they get it?
depends...Robert wanted a ZHUZHU hamster for his bday....they are sold out everywhere...i found him 2 at TRU as soon as store opened and his dad sent him 1 as well hehe

If they really want something at other times of hte year, do they get it?
it depends...he saves his money that he earns to buy stuff (cars, pokemon and bakugan cards) i will always buy him paper, crayons, markers though

Do you ever over-rule a want because there is no need for it? all the time

Do your kids get something (even a small something) every time they go to the store with you? not with me, but every sunday when we visit my gma at the care center, my gpa always brings him a new hot wheels and a lottery ticket...my aunt always brings him stickers and tattoos that day as well

Why do you think the way you do on the above questions? its just a fact hehehe

Do you think your kids are spoiled? a little

Would others think that your kids are spoiled? not sure

If they really want something for birthdays or Christmas, do you make sure they get it? sometimes but they are inexpensive

If they really want something at other times of hte year, do they get it? it's a treat, not all the time

Do you ever over-rule a want because there is no need for it? haven't dealt with it yet but she's not getting everything she wants

Do your kids get something (even a small something) every time they go to the store with you? she gets stuff every once a while

Why do you think the way you do on the above questions? Kyla is the only child right now but she doesn't get everything she wants. I don't go to the toy section of the store everytime we go

Do you think your kids are spoiled?
On love yes, material things no
Would others think that your kids are spoiled?
No
If they really want something for birthdays or Christmas, do you make sure they get it?
It depends on what it is. This year Krystina has been begging for a cell phone and a laptop. She's 9 so nope she's not gonna get it.
If they really want something at other times of hte year, do they get it?
Typically no. There are very few exceptions. Generally Krystina (and I'm sure Emilee when she's older), will ask to have the item put on her birthday or Christmas list.
Do you ever over-rule a want because there is no need for it?
Yes--see above statement about cell phone and laptop
Do your kids get something (even a small something) every time they go to the store with you?
No
Why do you think the way you do on the above questions?
This is how I was raised. I didn't get something every time I went out and I didn't always get what I wanted. I don't want my girls to grow up with a sense of entitlement and the gotta haves. If they really want something they will find a way to earn the money for it and purchase it themselves. This isn't to say that we don't surprise them occasionally with something we know they want, because we do. But we don't do it to the extent that they think they are going to get something all the time.

Do you think your kids are spoiled? Yes

Would others think that your kids are spoiled? Yes, but they don't think they are spoiled brats...my kids have good manners

If they really want something for birthdays or Christmas, do you make sure they get it? Not always. Depends on where we are sitting financially

If they really want something at other times of hte year, do they get it? Sometimes...I'm guilty of that because Sierra's b-day is Christmas Eve. So I feel bad because she has to wait all year for both her birthday and Christmas. But its usually something small

Do you ever over-rule a want because there is no need for it? yes

Do your kids get something (even a small something) every time they go to the store with you? Nope.

Vicki Any rough times are behind you.
Default Re: Spoiled?

Do you think your kids are spoiled?

I think that they are within reason. I try my best to give them what they want when I can but they do have to wait a lot of the time... I like to give them good things..

Would others think that your kids are spoiled?

Not sure, my kids are not spoiled brats that throw fits in stores and such so I would say no. People that know them would say they have a lot but I don't know that spoiled is the right word.

If they really want something for birthdays or Christmas, do you make sure they get it?

I do my best. If I know they want something that is not worth the money or that is not good for them then no, I will not get it. But if there is something that they really want and I can get it I will. The look on their faces is so worth it!

If they really want something at other times of hte year, do they get it?

Yes, the same reason. I will find a reason to get them somthing special but the BIG stuff gets put up for GREAT days at school or holidays...

Do you ever over-rule a want because there is no need for it?

Yes I do this all the time....

Do your kids get something (even a small something) every time they go to the store with you?

Not everytime but prolly more than they should. I am trying to teach my kids that money doesn't grow on trees...

Why do you think the way you do on the above questions?

I want my kids to have good things.. I want my kids to know that when they do good they are rewarded and also that they are special. I want them to know things are obtainable and that they can do and have anything in the world if they are willing to work and believe.. I believe they are my children and I am allowed to spoil them if I want but that it is my responsibility to make sure they dont grow up greedy.. :-)
